Storing

How to properly store textiles

Products can be damaged even when not in use if not stored properly: moths, damp and poor folding can all reduce the life span of fabric. But proper storing is not difficult.

Storing
  • Before storing away any product, make sure it is clean and dry.
  • Fold products carefully and stack them loosely with the heaviest on the bottom to prevent creases setting in.
  • Avoid keeping products in direct contact with wood, as wood contains some acids that can damage textiles if kept in contact for a long period of time.
  • Consider using a natural moth repellent like cedar wood in the closet or storing compartment where products are kept.
  • Be aware of moisture, humidity, heat, mildew and fungus when storing textiles. A dry room with an average temperature is optimal.
