Tekla Marylebone

Tekla is proud to introduce Tekla Marylebone, its first international store, opening in London on 26 November 2025.

Designed in a continued collaboration with Copenhagen-based architectural studio Mentze Ottenstein, Tekla Marylebone builds on the visual language first established in the Copenhagen flagship, while exploring a Scandinavian interpretation of British design. While both share an appreciation for natural materials and craftsmanship, it was the playful exchange between these two sensibilities that offered most inspiration, as the design – and by extension Tekla’s arrival in London – sought ways to let British wit meet Scandinavian clarity.

The space is conceived as explorative and flexible – part gallery, part home – where structures designed as furniture shape the flow and encourage discovery. Central is the use of British materials – such as heavy wool panelling, oak parquet flooring and blackened iron detailing – to achieve the typical clean lines and functionality of Scandinavian interiors. These sit in dialogue with iconic design pieces familiar to Tekla, from archival Alvar Aalto furniture to sculptural works by Sara Flynn, alongside glass-fronted cabinets that evoke the curated eclecticism of British homes and institutions, from Kettle’s Yard to Victorian cabinets of curiosity.

The result is a soft, inviting environment that encourages interest and discovery, translating Tekla’s product world into a physical experience. Distinct areas showcase core collections – bedding, terry and sleepwear, plus a dedicated space for gifting – while flexible displays and domestic details such as drawers, artwork and lighting create an intimate, liveable atmosphere. The store is conceived as a warm and evolving space that invites visitors to explore, linger and connect with Tekla’s universe.
